Terms of Use

Last updated: 24 September 2026

Molding (molding.3dshouse.com) is a service operated by 3dshouse. Signing in uses a 3dshouse account, and the 3dshouse Privacy Policy applies to that account. These terms cover the Molding web editor, the Molding library, and the Molding Revit add-in ("the Service").

By using the Service you accept these terms. If you do not accept them, do not use the Service.

1. Beta, and free of charge

The Service is in beta and is currently free of charge. There is no paid tier, no seat limit and no locked content. Features may change, and the Service may be interrupted or withdrawn without notice. Pricing may be introduced later; it will not be applied retroactively to a family you have already downloaded.

2. Accounts

Browsing the library, opening a family, generating an .rfa and placing a family into your Revit project do not require an account. An account is required only to save your own models, to favourite a family, and to fork one. You are responsible for what happens under your account.

3. The families in the library

Families published in the Molding library are free to use, including in commercial projects: you may download them, generate them, place them, modify them, and include them in the models you deliver to your own clients. You may not resell the library itself or redistribute it as a competing content library or plugin.

Families are provided as is. A generated .rfa is a design aid, not a construction document and not a manufacturer's specification. You are responsible for checking that any family is fit for your project before you rely on it.

4. Content you create

You keep all rights in the models you create or fork. By saving a model to your account you grant 3dshouse only the permission needed to store it and to show it back to you, and — if you mark a model public — to publish it in the library.

Do not upload content you do not have the right to upload, and do not use the Service to redistribute a third party's commercial content library.

5. Acceptable use

Do not attempt to break, overload or circumvent the Service: automated scraping of the library, bypassing rate limits, or probing the API for vulnerabilities. Requests are rate-limited per account, or per IP address for anonymous requests.

6. The Revit add-in

The add-in runs inside your own installation of Autodesk Revit and generates families on your machine. Autodesk, Revit and the .rfa format are Autodesk's; Molding is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or a product of Autodesk. Your use of Revit is governed by your own Autodesk agreement. Molding supports Revit 2022–2027.

7. Liability

To the extent permitted by law, the Service is provided without warranty of any kind, and 3dshouse is not liable for any loss arising from its use — including loss of data, loss of work, or errors in a generated family. Because the Service is free, nothing in these terms creates a service-level commitment.

8. Changes and termination

These terms may change; the date at the top of this page marks the latest version, and continued use after a change means you accept it. We may suspend an account that breaches these terms.

9. Contact
