Privacy Policy

Last updated: 24 September 2026

Molding (molding.3dshouse.com) is a service operated by 3dshouse. Sign-in uses a 3dshouse account, so the 3dshouse Privacy Policy covers your account itself. This page describes what the Molding service stores on top of that.

What Molding stores

DataWhenWhy
Your 3dshouse account idWhen you sign inTo attach your saved models, favourites and forks to you
Models you save: name, slug, tags, category, visibility, the family definition JSON and its thumbnailWhen you click Save, or fork a familySo you can open them again
Favourites: which family you starredWhen you star a familyTo show your favourites list
Usage events: an event type (view, place, download, fork, save), the family's slug, a timestamp, and your account id if you are signed inWhen you view, place, download, fork or save a familyTo count which families are used, so the library is built around what people actually use
Rate-limit counters: your account id, or your IP address when you are not signed inOn every write requestTo stop scripted abuse. These rows are deleted about an hour after the window they belong to

A usage event from a visitor who is not signed in carries no account id and no IP address — it records only the event type, the family slug and the time.

What Molding does not store

  • No payment data — the Service is free and takes no payments.
  • No tracking or advertising cookies, and no third-party analytics scripts.
  • No contents of your Revit project. The add-in generates families on your own machine; your project model is never uploaded.
  • Your browser keeps your sign-in token and your editor preferences in localStorage on your own device. That is not sent anywhere except as the token on requests to the Molding API.

Where it is stored

  • Neon (Postgres) — accounts' ids, model metadata, favourites, usage events, rate-limit rows.
  • Cloudflare R2 — the family definition files and thumbnails for saved models.
  • Vercel — hosting for the website and the API; Vercel processes the requests that reach it and keeps its own short-lived operational logs.

Sharing

Your data is not sold and not shared with advertisers or data brokers. It is handled only by the providers listed above, acting for 3dshouse to run the service, and disclosed otherwise only where the law requires it.

A model you mark public is published in the library and visible to everyone. A model left private is visible only to you.

Your choices

  • Un-star a favourite: the row is deleted immediately.
  • Use Molding without signing in at all — browsing, opening, generating and placing need no account, and leave nothing attached to you.
  • To have a saved model deleted, or to close your account and remove what is attached to it, contact 3dshouse.

Usage events are kept as aggregate product counters; they carry no account id when you are not signed in.
